Sherburn social club

7-8pm start

In Attendance:

150 lb of the 350lb of micro fish that was netted for removal have been put back in and £200 given to the club for the sale of the rest which have gone for dead baits.

As a result of all the comments on social media and people saying / spreading bad things about 5 star he will now longer work with us and we will probably struggle to get any help/advice from any fishery management companies  as they will not want to due to the hassle caused.

I want to put an end to it and don't wish to discuss it further but if anyone has any questions / concerns in the future please contact the committee and do not start posting stuff on social media especially ones which are nothing to do with the club and contacting other fishing groups.

Anyone found to be doing so will risk losing their membership!!!

Onto some positive updates!!!

The new fish have gone in and seem to have spread out across the lake , bream ,chub,ide and some small carp.

A feeding program is in place aswell to help the fish grow with antibiotics built in the pellets ,this is to help prevent infection and aid growth of the fish ,this is done twice a week Mon and Thurs night.aprrox 5-10kg in winter 10-15kg in summer

  Angling trust grant completed just the top soil and grass seed to spread in between the pegs.

Lots of new pegs installed the road access all around the lake is complete the new island back filled and planted .

2T of Siltex has been introduced to the pond to help with the silt issues also the dye has been put in to prevent the weed growing .

Bubbler stones back in place.

What the committee are looking to improve!

We are currently looking into improving the toilets  which we will be looking to get a grant from the council to help support the costs.

We are also in talks with the council over a new lease which we have had initial talks.

As part of the continuation of restocking the fish for next year have been ordered with a mix of crucians / tench /ide and chub  to help support new blood lines and build up a good mix of sport for all our members .

We will be putting some dates out for working parties please help where you can even an hr helps the more that help the quicker we can get on top of stuff.

Railway side plastic grids install between tarmac and fence and back filled with stone.

Some small repair to a few pegs

And throughout the summer grass cutting and strimming  weed killer spraying  hedges/ bushes will need cutting .

Cabin needs painting external.

Pot holes filed with cold set tarmac.

These are just a few things that need sorting im sure as the year goes on other things will crop up . so please lend a hand where you can .
