•Wire traces must always be used and not shorter than 15inches.
•Treble hooks larger than size 8 must not be used and must not be made of stainless steel and treble hooks must not be used that have more than one barb per hook.
•Traces and mainline must not be less than 12lb breaking strain.
•No gaffs or pike gags to be used.
• Lure fishing allowed but must stay within the peg your casting from water boundaries, no casting over neighbouring pegs.
• Dead/live baiting allowed but fish used must be caught from the lake. Roach and Rudd only nothing larger than 4oz may be used (this will be monitored).
•You must have the correct unhooking equipment – a large landing net and large unhooking mat and long forceps.
•Only 1 or 2 hook rigs are allowed when using double hook rigs, the hooks should not be more than 3” apart.
•All spinners must be barbless with the barbs crushed down.
•Our fishery operates an immediate strike rule – delay in striking will only guarantee you a deep hooked fish and may result in harm or death to the fish.
•When photographing fish, support the fish over a large unhooking mat, kneel and never stand up with the fish.
•When returning fish after capture, please support the fish in the water giving it plenty of time to recover before releasing it.
•Valid E.A rod licence must be held.
•Maximum size 6 barbless only.
•2 rod maximum.
•Leaders and safe zone leaders allowed inc tubing. No naked rigs.
•No fixed leads ( all rigs must be safe and able to loose the lead in the event of a breakage).
•Mini spombs only ( not large).
•No bait boats allowed.
•All bite alarms must be set quiet and turned off/down when re setting a rod on alarm.
•2 kg max bait of this 1kg max of boilies allowance per session.
• No angler to be more than 1 peg away from live fishing rods.
•Large landing nets minimum 42” Carp cradles/unhooking mat must be used and well padded.
•Fish within the boundaries of the peg your fishing, No casting across neighbouring pegs.
•No nuts of any kind.
•Rig checks will be carried out for the safety of the fish.
•Carp may only be held in a retainers for 20mins max, this is ample time to prepare camera equipment and take photos.
•Carp care kits must be used on wounds and mouth hook holds. ( products from Korda and other main brands are recommended).
•No night fishing without booking on through Committee, or wheatsheaf clubs email ( this will be limited and controlled).
•No surface fishing of any kind.
•All bivvys must be tooked to side of peg and have ample room for residents and anglers to pass behind the peg without obstruction.
• No 2 man bivvys as these are two big to set up around the pegs. Brolly system bivvys are highly urged or small single bivvys as these have a smaller footprint.
•Valid E.A rod licence must be held for the number of rods being used.
•Barbless hooks only maximum size hook 10.
•Maximum 2 rods.
•Keepnets allowed but must be emptied after 6 hours of fishing, nets must be aired on bank whilst setting up before entering water.
•All feeders and method feeders must be free running and able to come free in the event of a breakage.
•No floating baits or surface fishing.
•Unused bait must not be thrown into the lake or surrounding vegetation (please take home or use the bin provided behind peg 6).
•Valid E.A rod licence must be held.
•2 kg max bait usage across all bait used per session.
• All fish above 6oz must be netted, no swinging in of fish.
•No rolling fish down keepnets when emptying, reduce the keepnet down to last 2 or 3 rings, and pull the rings through, lift up and empty into either weigh bag or back into lake. This will help reduce any unnecessary fish damage.
